Maria C. Caiozzo, founder of Balanced Canine Products, LLC, first became involved in canine rehabilitation when her 8-year-old Boston Terrier ‘Max’ suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury. While searching for good care for Max, Maria was introduced to a rehabilitation facility in South Florida, where she later worked as a rehabilitation technician. During this time, she attended the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (CRI) where she received her certification in canine rehabilitation.
In 2004, Maria joined the staff at CRI where she assumed many positions including teaching assistant and operations manager. Maria also manufactured specific therapeutic exercise equipment used to teach the exercise modality labs.
Recognizing the need for therapists and practitioners to have a reliable resource for high-quality therapeutic exercise equipment, especially designed for animals, Maria created Balanced Canine Products, LLC in 2007. She prides herself on products manufactured mostly in the USA with the exception of those produced in Italy and Germany.
Maria has dedicated the past 10 years of her life to assisting animals in need. She currently resides in Denver Colorado where she donates her time to rescue groups and shelters. For fun, Maria enjoys outdoor activities – she loves to cycle, hike, run, inline skate and stand up paddle board. Maria’s other passion is cooking Italian meals for her friends and family.
